"Digital Hugs" and "Pixelised Human"

What happened to good ol' heart-warming hugs?
They are getting scarce...

What happened to those hello-hugs and pecks on the cheeks?
What happened to those goodbye-take care-hugs?
What happened to those cheer-up-hugs?
What happened to those I'm-here-for-you-hugs?

Everyone is all over the world... We have to make do with digital-hugs: **hugs**.
I have a love-hate (okay, more like 'like/tolerated-hate') relationship with 'digital-hugs'..
It's better than nothing; it shows that the someone cares, whoever that is giving the hug, at least, it seems like it.

When we can't get something, we humans learn to adapt. When we can't see our loved ones, skype was created and we adapt to seeing each other in pixelised form.

We long to touch each other, to feel one another's warmth; but we have to make do with just images on a screen.

**************************

It's so easy to hide how you feel when you are safe behind your computer screen. You could be typing "LOL", "Hahaha", "XD" or "XP"; when you are actually crying. IM's are so deceiving. No one really knows what you are feeling or how you are doing when all you have to do is be all "happy".

Whenever will we learn to be true to ourselves?
Whenever will we learn to show our heart to someone?
Whenever will we learn to let someone into that deep dark place inside our hearts?

Night out in Klang~

11th November 2009
~Cloudy~

Weee~ After work, went for dinner with Benji. Initially was heading for fried chicken with Amy as well. BUT she ditched us at the last minute. So, Benji and I went off to D'Tavern!

Went to his house first, surveyed the mess that he would have to clean up before he heads off to Australia, the land with more cows and sheep than humans. =)

Ben's extended family was there (Cher Lynn's in-laws), so we just joined them. Food was great!!! ^_^ He had the mushroom soup, spring chicken and spaghetti. (Yes, TWO main-courses). Me went for the Smoked Salmon Salad and Lamb-i to follow.

Sorry, no pictures.. Was too busy enjoy my food... heehee.. Next time I'll make sure I take some shots. XD

After eating, went to have a drink at the bar and chatted with Uncle George for a while. Yes, it was a DRINK drink... pint of Tetley's, I believe it was.

We went to Ben's sister, Cher Lynn's new house afterwards. The house is big, and nice. Very nice.

Then was off on my way home. =P

Desperately needed a night out, to take a break from thinking and just have some pure fun for once; and I got a fun night out. Thanks Benji. =)

Happy Birthday QISTI

1st November 2009
~Raining~

Happy Happy Birthday, our dear ol' Stray Cat!! You turned 19 today!!

Had been planning a surprise party for him since last week.. Calling around people, booking tables, booking tickets, etc etc.. and it was all worth it. All of us had a great time!

Picked Qisti up at around 3pm, on the pretense that it was just going to be the two of us. Met Pok up at the cinemas. Qisti then asked me, "so how many people are coming?"

My reply? "No-one else" =P

Soon, Tuan Tynn joined us, followed by Stephy and Benji. So the six of us headed into the cinema, to watch Law Abiding Citizen.

It was amazing. I won't spoil the story for those who haven't watched it yet. But it was a great movie, filled with smart people trying to figure out what the smarter guy was doing.

After the movie, a second surprise was waiting for him at TGI Fridays. JC, Zjen Thak, Kiet and Vinod were there waiting when we arrived. Jerusha and Hafizah came later. Everyone was laughing and talking. The fun really began after our meal, when they brought out the cake.

I had heard from other people that TGI does great birthday bashes, ergo, I booked the table there. The staff was singing, cheering and having as much fun as we did. Made Qisti stand on a chair to sing (which he didnt do) and to blow candles from a very far distance (which he did, along with spitting on people unfortunate enough to sit below the cake.. =P)

Then, the cream arrived, and it got VERY messy. Picking a small cherry out from a big pile of cream requires some courage. Of course, the bystanders cannot help but to give a hand.. (by pushing his face in deeper)

Cream flew everywhere... including my face..

The "after-party" was, lo and behold, at Asia Cafe.... yes, the food court in front of our college; the one we go to most of the time. Why there? Well, they serve great fruit juices!!

The waiter who normally serves us, and knows us pretty well, came and said "Exotic Blast, one large, one medium?"

All we could do was laugh.

Thou i was very very tired; it was a fun day out!

The Time Traveler's Wife

Friday, 30th October 2009
~Breezy~

Had a boring day at work. Couldnt quite concentrate on whatever it was I was doing. Was thinking about some things.

I was also looking forward to spending the evening out with some great friends.

The stray cat came to pick me up from the office at around (i think) and we were waiting for our dear japanese cat to finish teaching his 'tutorial lesson' with the juniors.

We then set off to Pyramid. Went to the cinemas to grab tickets before heading to PASTA ZANMAI for dinner!!!

Stray Cat and I had already been there once, and it was love at first sight (or rather, at first taste). Throughout the whole dinner, we were laughing and talking about anything and everything. Got a bit hyper, I guess. And for that, you would have to blame the gorgeous fresh fruit juice they had there.

After we stuffed ourselves, Japanese Cat went to pick up the tab; against my will, of course, but he wouldnt let me see the bill. =_=''

Then it was time for our movie!! The Time Traveler's Wife! I have to say I had very high expectations for this movie because the book was so great. I actually read the book more than 3 times, and I never failed to shed tears no matter how many times I read it.

hitched from Google Image

This is probably the only movie I would say came as close to the amazing book as possible. It tells the heartwarming story of a man who travels to and fro time; how he deals with the awkward situation of appearing out of nowhere with not a stitch on him; and more importantly, the story of how he met his wife is brought out to the readers in the most amazing way.

Everything in the story unfolds so beautifully.
It's my all-time-favourite book. And now, the movie is one of my all-time-favourite movie as well.

Although it doesn't show every event, every happening that occur in the book, because it is just not possible to squeeze everything into the 2hours of the movie. But the script writer and the director did an amazing job in picking the scenes.

I was practically crying for the last 20 minutes of that movie. One thing I have to complain about the movie is that they didnt show the very very end of the book.

Spoiler ahead

She's 82 yrs old, and he travels from when he is 43 to see her.

This is a most beautiful ending to a amazingly written story

Great night out.. love both of you cats!! Miaowz!!

Memories~

I was watching a very touching Korean movie, called "A Moment to Remember"; and started thinking about a lot of things. The main story-line of the movie is about a man who continues to love his wife and be by her side even though she was forgetting him due to Alzheimer's Disease.

This movie is so touching; tells us of how powerful love really is... but it also hits home the sad reality of life. No matter how hard we try to keep those precious memories intact. In the end, we end up losing them.

What is memory? Is it something we can keep in a box and bury it, storing it forever? Is it something we can see, we can touch, and in doing so, make certain it is there, and not just an illusion.

In truth, memory will fade over time. They cannot be collected nor stored.

Short term memory may only last for a few seconds; some may last for a few days..
Long term memory may stay for a few years, decades even.. but eventually, it will fade away..
You might forget something because another more significant event has wiped out that memory; or it might just be old-age.

The brain's memory centre is known as the hippocampus. It's shaped like the horn of a ram. This paired structure will shrink with old-age. This tiny thing in our brain, is the thing that stores all our memories.

Sometimes, we wish that we have a camera with us to capture every precious moment; we want to write down everything that happened, so we can refer to these accounts later, to remember the wonderful moments we shared.

Nothing lasts forever. All we can do is to carry on, be glad we had these times, be it happy, be it sad. They will always be cherished, be treasured.

Rashy rashy..

See that?

yeap.. that's my arm.. with a very big patch of red spots on it.. multiply that by about 100 and u'd get the condition i've been in.. or still in, in fact

that's my rash.. has been with me since two weeks ago.. actually, it's been coming and going and coming again, with increased intensity.. i even went to the doctor's to see about it.. charged me 30 bucks for pills that were supposedly anti-rash and anti-itch.. but ended up only making me drowsy at the worse of times..

Initially my rash wasnt this bad.. but you know....it's human natural to scratch when you itch.. so i did.. unconsciously and badly..
Apparently those red spots are due to the breaking of weak capillaries underneath the skin.
(imagine, I'm actually hurting my blood vessels) and those spots are actually bruises..
So if you're in the same condition I'm in.. Go pump ur body full of Vitamin-C, the deficiency of which causes weak blood vessels, and hence easy bruising..

**hope my rash will go soon**

Loreal Star Search

As you might know, Benji was one of the finalist for this year's Loreal Star Search... The final was at Zouk Club in KL...

Had a pretty horrible drive there... stuck in traffic for over 3 hrs... car misbehaving... me being frustrated at myself...
The actual event there was pretty okay... Managed to snuck in front of the judges' table to take pictures, (which turned out to be a pretty fruitless event considering the bad bad lighting and everything...)

The rest of the night was my worst nightmare came true... you will have to speak to me to hear the story, i don't feel like typing it here....

basically, i got my ass fried for staying out so late... then got it even worse when the car blew up... all in all, it was a mess...
